Clynelish is an anglicised version of the Gaelic for green pasture. And, though it's a coastal whisky, this is fitting for a Scotch with sweet floral fragrances and verdant flavour notes. It's a name with a long history, one that predates the current distillery, which has adorned the labels of whisky bottles for two hundred years. Sutherland distilleries have always been few and far between. But whisky drinkers have always championed Clynelish over many more famous brands and praise its unique combination of Highland and maritime qualities. Clynelish whisky is closer to an Island style than other mainland malts, with a complex and fragrant nose and an agreeable long finish that leaves a lingering fresh-fruity flavour. This 14YO is a less heavyweight whisky that's deliciously drinkable and makes a great aperitif.

Ballindalloch, on the banks of the legendary salmon river, is for many the home of the definitive Cragganmore Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Hugely complex, rich with layers of flavour and a whiff of smoke in the finish. Aromatic and floral on the nose, with a hint of smoked almonds.

The richly layered Glenfiddich 15YO single malt is matured in three types of oak cask: sherry, bourbon and new oak, before being married in thier unique, handcrafted Oregon pine Solera vat. Year on year, this Solera vat is never emptied but is always kept at least half full creating a deliciously harmonious and intense whisky which gets more complex and intriguing every year. Silky smooth, revealing layers of sherry oak, marzipan, cinnamon and ginger. Full-bodied and bursting with flavour. Serve neat, with a couple of drops of water (to bring out the flavours), or over ice.

A truly exceptional single malt, the result of whisky-making craft and knowledge passed down through the generations. Glenfiddich marry their 18YO in small batches of no more than 150 casks. Every batch is individually numbered and carefully watched over. In the glass, a dark gold colour and remarkably rich aroma with ripe orchard fruit, baked apple and robust oak. Tradition meets innovation in the Glenfiddich 21YO Gran Reserva. Matured in oak barrels for 21 years, this whisky is then finished in hand-selected Caribbean rum casks for up to four months. The meticulous process makes for an exquisite Speyside whisky enriched with complex, warming and vibrant flavours. Notes of vanilla, toffee and oak add smoothness, while expertly layered notes of tropical fruit and spices make it truly extraordinary.

Quinta Ruban is a whisky journey into the wild - a dark and delectable forest where the wind whistles with gusts of peppermint and dark swirls of chocolate can happen at any moment. In their giraffe-high stills, it begins soft and fruity, then gets darker and deeper as they let it age for 14 years in bourbon casks and port casks from Portugal. The finished whisky is a thicket of voluptuous flavour combinations. Walnut and black pepper. Mandarin orange and melted marshmallow. Dark chocolate bar and peppermint. Like stepping into a chocolate-minty-orange unknown, the journey is as delicious as the destination.

To create it, Glenmorangie gather the silky, fruity spirit from their giraffe-high stills and let it steep in American oak casks. No less than 15 years later, they transfer a portion into Oloroso sherry casks for three more years. Once 18 years have passed, Glenmorangie reunite them to create its warm balance of sweet, floral lushness.
